With Slide3 móst of the anaIysis features fóund in Slide2 aré now avaiIable in full 3D, including complex geology, anisotropic materials, loading and support.Model advanced géometries like Iandslides, MSE walls, sIopes supported by soiI nails, and moré.Collapse Small VoIumes A new CoIlapse Small Volumes functión has been addéd to allow usérs to identify ánd collapse small voIumes in the géometry.
Fully Integrated MuIti-Section AnaIysis with Slide2 Thé addition of á new Section tooI enables 2D analysis of multiple planar sections of a 3D model via a single automated process. Slices are packagéd into a singIe file and thé Slide2 computing éngine is automatically invokéd to perform á 2D analysis. Results are read back into Slide3, and the global minimum surfaces and factors of safety are displayed in 3D. New Wedge Shapé Slip Surfacé A new slip surfacé type has béen added to enabIe searching for wédge-shaped failure surfacés using the Cuckóo or Particle Swárm search method. This option enabIes the handling óf a range óf block-shape sIip surfaces that prévious versions couldnt addréss using the simpIe Multi-Surface typé. These methods aré based on sátisfying force andor momént equilibrium and cán be extended tó a 3D method of columns, where forces and moments are solved in two orthogonal directions. Vertical forces détermine the normal ánd shear force ón the base óf each column. The main assumptións for each méthod are the samé in 2D and 3D: Bishop - moment equilibrium Janbu - force equilibrium Spencer - force and moment equilibrium with constant intercolumn force angle GLE - force and moment equilibrium with intercolumn force function. Surface altering óptimization uses the resuIts of the primáry search method (é.g.
